I never thought I’d be a church pastor, but God works in mysterious ways. Right now I am serving as co-pastor of Carthage Christian Church in Cincinnati, a 179 year old congregation founded by frontier evangelist Walter Scott. Like many urban churches, we face the challenges and opportunities of doing ministry in a changing neighborhood. We are a diverse congregation, in terms of age, racial/ethnic background, and theology. The love of God and neighbor binds us together as we work through what it means to be a Christian community.
My role is outreach and discipleship. I enjoy teaching and working to build relationships between the church and the neighborhood. If you’d like to know more about the congregation, visit our website or join us on Sunday mornings at 10:45 a.m.
I am also interested in chaplaincy work. In 2010 and 2011 I completed two units of Clinical Pastoral Education at Cincinnati VA Medical Center, providing spiritual care to veterans. I am a member of the Chaplains Association of Ohio and plan to continue chaplaincy education and volunteering.
